Albania COVID-19 Update 24 January: 5 Dead, 833 Infections, 506 Recoveries

Five people infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1,315. The victims’ age varies between 26 and 70.

833 new cases have been found in the meantime, bringing the total number of cases to 72,274.

506 people have recovered; 43,890 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 286 patients hospitalized with the virus, of which 19 are in intensive care, 4 are intubated in aggravated condition.

The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tiranë (349), Elbasan (42), Durrës (34), Shkodër (30), Kavajë (26), Kurbin (25), Vlorë (25), Krujë (23), Lushnje (20), Berat (20), Lezhë (20), Kamëz (15), Kuçovë (15), Korçë (14), Fier (12), Kukës (12), Gramsh (12), Ura Vajgurore (9), Mirditë (8), Sarandë (8), Mallakastër (7), Mat (7), Tepelenë (7), Malësi e Madhe (6), Patos (6), Tropojë (5), Delvinë (5), Bulqizë (5), Kolonjë (5), Has (4), Rrogozhinë (4), Gjirokastër (4), Belsh (4), Dibër (4), Peqin (4), Memaliaj (4), Shijak (4), Vorë (4), three cases in Pogradec, Divjakë, Selenicë, Cerrik, Poliçan, two cases in Pukë, Librazhd, Roskovec, Dropull, Këlcyrë, and one case in Prrenjas, Himarë, Skrapar.

27,069 cases remain active in the country: Tirana (15841), Fier (1981), Durrës (1505), Shkodër (1344), Elbasan (1149), Vlorë (1045), Lezhë (1000),  Korçë (914), Berat (834), Gjirokaster (541), Dibër (501), and Kukës (414).
