Prisoners will be able to work in tailoring while serving their sentences, following an agreement signed on Monday by Justice Minister Etilda Gjonaj and the Pro-Export Albania association.
During the meeting, the Minister said that “a promise was finalized and a new journey was started towards increasing the professional capacity” for the prisoners.
Prisoners will produce products that will then be sold.
The money that will be earned from the sale of these products, said Gjonaj, will go to the prisoners.
Initially, the initiative will start in Albania’s women’s prison.
