Albania COVID-19 Update 26 January: 8 Dead, 879 Infections, 589 Recoveries

Eight people infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1,332. The victims’ age varies between 29 and 84.

879 new cases have been found in the meantime, bringing the total number of cases to 73,691. Today’s cases mark a significant rise compared to yesterday’s 538 cases.

589 people have recovered; 44,880 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 284 patients hospitalized with the virus, of which 19 are in intensive care, 4 are intubated in aggravated condition.

The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tiranë (142), Elbasan (66), Durrës (56), Lushnje (45), Kavajë (43), Krujë (37), Berat (36), Kurbin (34), Shkodër (29), Sarandë (27), Vlorë (26), Fier (26), Kuçovë (22), Kukës (18), Librazhd (18), Kamëz (18), Mat (18), Dibër (17), Lezhë (16), Ura Vajgurore (15), Mallakastër (11), Prrenjas (11), Gramsh (11), Skrapar (11), Gjirokastër (10), Belsh (10), Tepelenë (10), Shijak (8), Patos (7), Mirditë (6), Delvinë (6), Vau i Dejës (6), Pogradec (5), Divjakë (5), Roskovec (5), Himar (5), Vorë (5), Poliçan (5), Korçë (4), Tropojë (4), Peqin (4), Rrogozhinë (3), Kolonjë (3), two cases in Pukë, Malësi e Madhe, Bulqizë, Maliq, Cërrik, Has, and one case in Devoll, Këlcyrë, Konispol.

27,479 cases remain active in the country: Tirana (16040), Fier (2072), Durrës (1499), Shkodër (1369), Elbasan (1226), Vlorë (1090), Lezhë (990),  Korçë (899), Berat (890), Gjirokaster (532), Dibër (452), and Kukës (420).
