Nineteen people infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1,636. The victims’ age varies between 52 and 82.
This is the third time Albania registers a record high of 19 deaths during the pandemic, after that of November 24th, and December 5th.
There were 1,071 new cases today, while total cases have amounted to 97,909.
Those recovered in the last 24 hours are 930 people; 61,605 since the beginning of the pandemic.
There are currently 618 patients hospitalized with the virus, of which 36 in intensive care, and 12 intubated in aggravated condition.
The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tiranë (397), Vlorë (72), Fier (68), Gjirokastër (51), Shkodër (49), Lezhë (36), Korçë (35), Kavajë (34), Elbasan (33), Krujë (30), Sarandë (25), Berat (24), Durrës (18), Lushnje (18), Devoll (15), Mallakastër (13), Kamëz (13), Mat (13), Delvinë (12), Kukës (10), Kurbin (9), Dibër (8), Peqin (8), Bulqizë (8), Has (7), Tropojë (5), Pogradec (5), Kolonjë (5), Librazhd (4), Tepelenë (4), Prrenjas (4), Gramsh (4), Kuçovë (4), Skrapar (4), Përmet (3), Vau i Dejës (3), Malësi e Madhe (3), Vorë (3), two cases in Mirditë, Ura Vajgurore, Shijak, and one case in Pukë, Rrogozhinë, Selenicë, Memaliaj, Maliq, Patos, Cerrik, Poliçan,
34,668 cases remain active in the country: Tirana (21,173), Fier (2,809), Vlorë (1,756), Durrës (1,735), Shkodër (1,430), Elbasan (1,109), Lezhë (1,021), Korçë (1,022), Berat (967), Gjirokaster (884), Kukës (409), and Dibër (353).
