Chairman of the Albanian Democratic Party Lulzim Basha promised to eliminate the gender wage gap and inequality in the workplace if his party win the 2021 general election.
Basha promised increased social welfare and dignity between Albanian men and women.
In an electoral meeting with women of “Unaza e re” area, Basha said:
“We are in negotiations with European Institutions, with European Universities to start the qualification of Albanian Youth, in order that young people live and stay here, work here, with dignified salaries”
He explained his political party plan for young families:
“Starting from our first year of government, we will finance 100% a loan for 5000 new couples every year, a total of 20,000 couples in the first four years, to buy their first apartment.”
He added that families will receive a payment from the state on a monthly basis until a child is five years old.
“Albanian children will have a bonus of EUR 25 per month from the government. Every month until he /she reaches the age of 5″ said Basha.
During the election campaign, gender equality has been pushed by the Socialist Party as well.
Prime Minister Edi Rama through a post on “Instastory” noted one of the 100 achievements of the government.
“It is time for equality,” the prime minister wrote in the post.
“59 women and girls will run under the Socialist Party logo on April 25! parliamentary election”.
He also said that 60% of Albanian women attend university today when compared to 56% in 2013 when he took office.
