Kosovo has expanded the scope of its sanctions against Russia and Belarus following in the footsteps of the European Union.
Approved by the government today, the sanctions extend the list of individuals whose assets in Kosovo will be frozen and who are prohibited from entering the country.
It will also shut down state-sponsored media that spreads Russian propaganda.
Earlier sanctions included the freezing of assets of Russian banks, financial institutions and individuals, preventing access to financial markets, as well as other sanctions targeting Russian enterprises and political actors involved in the invasion of Ukraine.
Furthermore, in an interview for the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Kurti condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and its destabilizing approach in other neighboring countries like Moldova and Georgia. He warned that Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic is a “Kremlin puppet who imitates Russia” in his approach in the region.
