The Central Election Commission (KQZ) approved today the request of the Democratic Party (PD) to be registered as electoral subject for the elections of June 25.
Also the Republican Party (PR) of close PD ally Fatmir Mediu registered for the elections, although it is not known yet whether he will run with his own party or as a candidate on the PD list.
In the coming hours the PD and PR are expected to turn in their candidate lists for the 12 electoral zones in the country. Today is the deadline for handing in those lists.
It appears that there still discussions within the PD whether representatives from smaller right-wing party will find a place on the PD candidate lists. So far it is known that PDK leader Nard Ndoka, LZhK leader Dashamir Shehi, and PBDNj leader Vangjel Dule will receive a “secure” spot on the PD lists. As regards the rest of the PD allies nothing is yet known, although there are several reports the PAA leader Agron Duka is trying to negotiate 3 spots for his own candidates.
