KQZ Conducts Partial Recount in Tirana

Today the Central Election Commission (KQZ) is conducting a partial recount of 64 ballot boxes from the County of Tirana, following up on complaints of the PDIU and PS.

So far 11 ballot boxes have been recounted, showing that PDIU as received 5 votes more than mentioned on the final vote counts of the ballot boxes.

PDIU leader Shpëtim Idrizi needs 37 additional votes to pass the 3% electoral threshold in order to win a mandate in Parliament, which would be the fourth for his party.

According to the initial results for Tirana, the PDIU had won 12.347 votes, or 2.98%.

Yesterday, the KQZ also confirmed the definitive distribution of mandates in the uncontested counties of Vlora, Shkodra, Lezha, Kukës, Korça, Gjirokastra, Fier, Elbasan, and Durrës.
