On Thursday, 89 out of 120 MPs voted to dissolve the parliament, following Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj resignation on 19 July. Earlier today Thaçi also approved this decision of the parliament.

A survey by the Slovenia-based institute IFIMES, placed opposition’s Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (LVV – Movement for Self-Determination) in first place, opposition Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) in second, followed by the recent government coalition allies– President Thaçi’s PDK and PM Haradinaj’s AAK.
