Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Minister of Culture Elva Margariti and Minister for Reconstruction, Arben Ahmetaj have presented the plans for new neighbourhoods that will house citizens that were affected by the 26 November earthquake.
In his speech, Rama has announced that construction will begin soon in the areas most affected and the first to be sheltered are the lower-income families.
“The first to have a shelter will be those who have more than others the need to move into a new home. It is intended that within this year we have settled several thousand families. The first houses will be for families in tents that do not want to be cut off from their land, ”said Rama.
In the meantime, according to Margariti, completely new neighbourhoods will be created, which will also bring together families living in remote areas.
The proposal was backed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who said that reconstruction would start from Thumana, which is one of the most affected areas.
