The European Union’s Ambassador to Albania, Luigi Soreca has thanked the contribution that hundreds of Albanian women and girls are giving on the front line in the fight against Coronavirus.
In a video posted on his Twitter account, Soreca noted the crucial role women play in Albanian society. He added that “hundreds of them work in the healthcare sector” and are “working around the clock to keep us safe”.

The video gives examples of crafts and handiworks of many Albanian women including, textiles, clothing and traditional foods.
Prepared for International Women’s Day, the video shows Soreca’s speech in which he speaks of the need to empower women through the protection of their social, political, and religious rights. He called on everyone to respect gender equality in Albania.
