Today, the police arrested brothers Klement and Eldi Çala, accused of stealing €6.6 million in two different robberies, a 2017 one on the road to the airport and a 2019 one on the airport runway.
They were found in a residence in Kavaja, alongside firearms, large sums of money, and several vehicles.
About 300 police officers took part in the operation to capture the two brothers.
Klement Çala was previously imprisoned in Greece. He and Admir Murataj escaped a Trikala prison in 2013. Murataj was killed during the 2019 robbery in a clash with the police.
