U.S. to Repatriate Americans Living in Albania

The U.S. will repatriate its citizens and legal permanent residents currently living in Albania who wish to depart the country, following today’s suspension of the only remaining flight from Tirana.

The U.S. Embassy called on Americans and U.S. residents in Albania to immediately contact the embassy to give their information, and be prepared to leave the country on short notice.

Three days ago, the embassy issued a warning for those who wanted to leave Albania to immediately arrange a flight through Istanbul.

U.S. embassy’s nonessential personnel and their families left Tirana aboard a charter last week.

Last week, Italy also repatriated Italian citizens living in Albania on a charter flight.
