Albania Coronavirus Update, 31 March: 13 Victims, 243 Infected

The number of diagnosed cases of Coronavirus in Albania has reached 243 today. This is an increase of 20 new cases in the last 24 hours, following 145 tests on suspected cases.

Deputy Health Minister Mira Rakacolli also announced the death of the 13th patient due to complication from Coronavirus. This morning a 62-year-old from Durres died in the Infectious Diseases Hospital, following last night’s death of an 82-year-old man. It is reported that they both had underlying health conditions.

According to the Ministry, there have been 1671 cases tested so far with 243 confirmed.

Some 77 patients are at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, eight are in intensive care and three are intubated. The rest remain in home in self-isolation and are considered to be in a stable condition.

A total of eight patients have been cured over the last 24 hours, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 52.

Lushnje: 4 cases

Elbasan: 5 cases

Fier: 23 cases

Kavaja: 4 cases

Rrogozhina: 2 cases

Korca: 15 cases

Vlora: 5 cases

Shkodra: 8 cases

Lezha: 5 cases

Berat: 1 case

Has: 2 cases

Kruja: 5 caess

Tropoje: 4 cases

Puka: 3 cases

Mirdita: 2 cases

The Ministry called on citizens to remain at home and to call 127 if they suspect they have any symptoms of Coronavirus.
