The European Union’s Ambassador to Albania, Luigi Soreca has thanked the Albanian government for the “concrete support” it gave in repatriating more than 70 EU citizens stranded in Albania.

In a Tweet, Soreca said that during the time of the Coronavirus outbreak, this was another tangible example of the concrete solidarity that Albania is providing during a time in need. This comment was perhaps a nod to the fact Albania sent 30 medical personnel to assist doctors in Italy, Soreca’s native country.
The doctors and nurses arrived in Rome on Saturday morning and were transferred to some of the cities worst hit by the pandemic. They will work alongside Italian doctors for a month and will be paid by the Albanian government.
