Albanian authorities have reported 9 new cases of coronavirus in Tirana and Elbasan, bringing the total to 409.
Over the last 24 hours, 234 tests were administered on those suspected of having the virus. A total of 3223 cases have been tested in all, 409 of which were positive.
A total of 22 people have lost their lives, most of which had underlying health conditions in addition to the Covid-19 diagnosis. The total number of recovered patients stands at 165, or 41 per cent of the total patients, with 11 being cured in the last 24 hours.
The Ministry stated that there are 52 patients in the Infectious Diseases Hospital, five of which are in intensive care. At Shefqet Ndroqi Hospital there are six inpatients, five of which are in intensive care, with four intubated.
Most cases of the infection have been recorded in Tirana, Shkoder and Durres.

Tirana (196, including 9 dead), Durres (38, 3 dead), Lushnje (5, one dead), Elbasan (15), Fier (32, one dead), Kavaja (8, 2 dead), Rrogozhine (4), Korca (17), Vlora (5, one dead), Shkodra (45), Lezha (14), Berat (2), Has (12, one dead), Kruja (5), Tropoje (4), Puka (4), Mirdite (3).
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection urged citizens to continue to respect social distancing measures.
