A further eight cases of Coronavirus have been identified in Albania during the last 24 hours.
The announcement was made by Eugena Tomini from the Institute of Public Health this morning. Tomini said that among the new cases, two medical staff- one in Shkodra and one in Kukes had been infected.
During the previous day, 236 suspected cases were tested, 45 of which were medical staff at the hospital in Shkodra. Eight of these were confirmed- six in Tirana, one in Shkodra and the other in Kukes. A total of 4306 suspected cases have been tested so far.
To date, 24 patients have died from the virus but 248 have been cured, 16 in the last 24 hours.
There are 46 inpatients at the two hospitals that are treating COVID-19 patients in the country.
The geographical distribution of cases is as follows: Tirana (227), Durres (42), Lushnje (6), Elbasan (15), Fier (32), Kavaja (8), Rrogozhine (4), Korce (17), Vlore (5), Shkoder (771), Lezhe (14), Berat (2), Has (13), Kruje (6), Tropoje (4), Puke (5), Mirdite (3), Kukes (1).
