All fines issued by the police during the coronavirus pandemic will be waived, and all confiscated driver’s licenses will be returned to their holders.
The announcement was made by Prime Minister Edi Rama on Facebook, where he said that the Albanian police has fined 7,107 people for violation the allowed time for shopping, and 1,941 drivers.
Rama added that the gradual opening of the country would be accompanied by new penalties for violators of the coronavirus preventative measures.
Following the parliament passing several pandemic-related changes to the Criminal Code yesterday, Rama warned that all citizens would now be liable to punishment as foreseen by the Criminal Code.
