Albania Coronavirus Update, 20 April: 26 Dead, 22 New Cases, 327 Recovered, 584 in Total

A total of 22 new cases of Coronavirus have been identified in Albania, according to the Ministry of Health this morning.

584 cases have been registered in total, with 22 in the last 24 hours. Three new cases were found in Shkodra, five in Kruja, 12 in Kurbin, and two in Tirana. Meanwhile, the government is continuing epidemiological investigations as well as tracking the contacts of those with the virus.

There have been 26 fatalities and 327 people have recovered.

The government conducted 233 tests in the last day, 22 of which were confirmed as positive. A total of 5,775 suspected cases have been conducted overall.

13 cases recovered in the last 24 hours and there are 231 actively infected people that the government knows about.

35 patients are in the Infectious Diseases Hospital, five of which are in intensive care. In Shefqet Ndroqi, nine people are hospitalised and five are in intensive care.

The geographical distribution of cases is as follows: Tirana (253), Durres (42), Lushnje (6), Elbasan (16), Fier (36), Kavaja (9), Rrogozhina (4), Korca (19), Vlora (5), Shkodra (99), Lezha (14), Berat (2), Has (13), Kruja (23), Tropoja (4), Puka (5), Mirdita (3), Kukes (11), Mallakaster (1), Kurbin (19).

The Ministry said that despite the fluctuation in numbers, the situation is under control. They said that the indication of the seriousness of the situation should be indicated by hospitalisations which remain stable.
