The Albanian government will put in place eased lockdown measures starting from Monday, April 27.
Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu announced that people will be allowed to go out for 2 hours a day, instead of 90 minutes.
Several businesses will be allowed to open from 5.00 to 17.30, and will be required to follow strict public health safety guidelines:
- Stores selling clothes, textile, shoes, and leather products;
- Furniture, lighting and home products stores;
- Flower stores;
- Electronics, children toys, sports equipment, telecommunication stores;
- Taxis;
- Specialized stores.
Furthermore, restrictive measures on people’s movement and use of cars will be eased in 11 cities across Albania starting from Monday, April 27.
Minister Manastiriu announced that eleven cities across Albania are now classified as low-risk areas: Dibra, Gjirokastra, Saranda, Konispol, Himara, Delvina, Finiq, Prrenjas, Pogradec, Librazhd and Divjaka.
Coronavirus curfew restrictions will be changed as follows in these municipalities:
– Retired people will be allowed to go out from 6.00 am to 08.30 am.
– All people can go out from 09.30 to 17.30, accompanied by no more than one person.
– Those who are authorized to work are not limited by the above restrictions.
– Use of private vehicles will be allowed from 09.30 to 17.30 only within the municipality boundaries. Old people must not use cars, and only one passenger is allowed in a car.
Parks will remain closed even in these low-risk cities.
