Albanian opposition is determined to conclude the electoral reform that will help the country toward free and fair elections, and in its EU accession path.
Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha reaffirmed opposition’s determination to do its part in the reform:
“We will offer the Albanians a way out of the crisis by fully engaging in the completion of electoral reform as soon as possible, which will pave the way for free and fair elections, and the process of EU accession talks for Albania,” Basha stated.
He clarified that the opposition never abandoned talks on the reform, and that the Socialist majority was attempting to delay an agreement by refusing all opposition proposals.
Basha’s reaffirmation of engagement to conclude the reform as soon as possible was greeted by the US and EU ambassadors in Albania.
