26 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in Albania during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1076.
Over 15,000 tests have been conducted since the beginning of March.
76% of those affected, or 823 people have recovered.
According to the Institute of Public Health, all the new cases have been found in Tirana. 12 of the new infected cases are medical staff and patients at the Mother Teresa Hospital Center, and were infected by a nurse who tested positive three days ago. None of them have exhibited symptoms yet.
There are currently 24 patients hospitalized with the virus and three are in intensive care.
220 cases are still active in the country, mainly in Tirana, Durres, Kruja, and Shkodra.
The geographical distribution of active cases is as follows: Tirana (122), Durrës (51), Kruja (17), Shkodra (12), Berat (6), Kamza (9), Fier (2), Korça (1).
