The United States of America have donated several military UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter units to the Albanian Air Forces.
US ambassador Yuri Kim and the Minister of Defense Olta Xhaçka signed the Letter of Offer and Acceptance today.
Minister Xhaçka called the Blackhawk helicopters “a colossal investment,” which, alongside the radar system, are indicators of the rise of the Albanian Air Force “alongside our strategic ally.”
Ambassador Kim stressed that this is not a mere donation of equipment, but a “jointly-funded program, where both the United States and Albania share the financial responsibility of defending the Alliance.”
