15 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in Albania during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1137.
The new cases were found in Tirana (11), Kruja (3) and Kamza (1).
Of the 225 people tested, 35 were medical staff, two of which resulted positive.
15 infected patients recovered in the last 24 hours, 872 in total.
About 16,000 molecular and serological tests have been conducted since the beginning of March.
There are currently 31 patients hospitalized with the virus, four are in intensive care and one is intubated.
A 82-year-old woman, who had several underlying health conditions, died in one of Tirana’s Covid-19 hospitals a few hours after being hospitalized. Her postmortem Covid-19 test resulted positive and medical staff are working to ascertain whether the virus was the cause of death.
232 cases are still active in the country, mainly in Tirana, Durres, Kruja.
