EU Special Representative for Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak is planning to organize the first meeting between the parties in June, sources told Kosovo’s Koha newspaper.
On Tuesday, during a meeting of the EU Political and Security Committee, Lajcak told the ambassadors of member states that he will try to arrange a first meeting on the dialogue as soon as possible, before the end of June.
The same sources told Koha that the dialogue should not lead to a land swap deal, an idea opposed by many EU member states, most notably Germany and France.
Lajcak tweeted after the meeting that he got the support of all 27 EU members.
Grateful for the strong support I received from the 27 EU Member States today! Very encouraging discussion about my mandate and the way ahead. https://t.co/ISH1qbz4KS
