36 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in Albania during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1299.
This is the highest number of newly infected people since the first two cases were found on March 9. Authorities have warned on the need to follow social distancing guidelines while the country opens.
The new cases were found in Tirana (27), Shkodra (4), Kamez (2), Durres (1), Lushnja (1) and Lezha (1).
34 people have died due to complications related to the coronavirus.
74 percent of the cases, or 960 people have recovered.
Over 18,000 tests have been conducted since the beginning of March.
There are currently 41 patients hospitalized with the virus, six are in intensive care, and two are intubated.
305 cases are still active in the country: Tirana (204), Shkodra (29), Kruja (24), Kamza (19), Durres (10), Mat (9), Lushnje (6), Korça (1), Librazhd (1), Mallakastra (1), Tropoja (1).
