42 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in Albania during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1341.
This is the highest number of newly infected people since the first two cases were found on March 9.
Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu warned of the need to follow social distancing guidelines while the country opens. She added that the situation was under control and within the government predictions.
The new cases were found in Tirana (21), Shkodra (9), Kamez (2), Durres (4), Lushnja (2) and Berat (1), Puka (1), Ura Vajgurore (1).
34 people have died due to complications related to the coronavirus to date.
74 percent of the cases, or 980 people have recovered.
There are currently 46 patients hospitalized with the virus, eight are in intensive care, and one is intubated.
327 cases are still active in the country:Tirana (205), Shkodra (38), Kruja (27), Kamza (19), Durres (14), Mat (9), Lushnje (6), Korça (1), Librazhd (1), Mallakastra (1), Tropoja (2), Lezha (1), Puka (1), Berat (1), Ura Vajgurore (1).
