An Albanian drug trafficking network was apprehended this week in Lyon, France.
The French news agency AFP reports that 14 people were arrested, and €3200, 2 kgs of heroin, and 500 grams of cocaine were confiscated.
The 14 arrested, amid them a woman, were all Albanians ranging from 19 to 46 years old and were in France with the status of asylum seekers.
The investigation into the network was launched after they requested to return to Albania when the French government instituted the coronavirus quarantine.
The network systematically sent money to Albania “to be invested in hotels and shopping centers.”
