33 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in Albania during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1995.
The new cases were found in Tirana (23), Shkodra (8), Pogradec (1), and Kamza (1).
The infected include people who have had contact with previously diagnosed cases, but also new ones into whom epidemiological investigations continue.
70 percent of those infected, or 1159 people have recovered. 44 people have succumbed to the virus in total.
Over 24,000 people have been tested since March.
There are currently 82 patients hospitalized with the virus, 10 are in intensive care, one is intubated. This is the highest number of hospitalizations the country has seen since the beginning of the pandemic.
792 cases are still active in the country in Tirana (366), Shkodra (133), Kruja (72), Kamëz (30), Durrës (150), Puka (11), Vlora (54), Lushnja (12), Korça (18), Librazhd (1), Mallakastra (2), Fier (37), Kukës (8), Tropoja (2), Mat (2), Lezha (14), Ura Vajgurore (1), Berat (1), Elbasan (10), Gjirokastra (1).
