77 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in Albania during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 2269.
A 76-year old and a 54-year old succumbed to the virus bringing the total number of victims to 51.
The new cases were found in Tirana (28), Shkodra (13), Durrës (5), Korça (5), Delvina (4), Berat (4), Fier (3), Kurbin (3), Pukë (3), Elbasan (2), Kamza (2), Kruja (1), Tropoja (1), Librazhd (1), Gjirokastra (1), Saranda (1).
The infected include people who have had contact with previously diagnosed cases, but also new ones into whom epidemiological investigations continue.
70 percent of those infected, or 1298 people have recovered.
Over 25,000 people have been tested since March.
There are currently 87 patients hospitalized with the virus, 15 are in intensive care, two are intubated. The average age of those hospitalized is 61 years old. This is the highest number of hospitalized coronavirus patients since the beginning of the pandemic.
920 cases are still active in the country in Tirana (375), Durrës (174), Shkodra (154), Vlora (84), Fier (44), Elbasan (12), Korça (25), Lezha (27), Kukës (13), Gjirokastra (7), and Berat (5).
