Albania Coronavirus Update, 11 April: 23 Dead, 197 Recovered, 17 New Cases, 433 in Total

The number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 in Albania has reached 433, with 17 new cases in the last 24 hours.

The death toll stands at 23 as no deaths were reported today.

The number of those recovered has reached 197, or about 45 percent of the total cases, with 15 patients testing negative in the last 24 hours.

The newly diagnosed were from cities of Tirana, Shkoder, Durres, Lushnje, Kruje and Puke.

Over the last 24 hours, 259 tests were administered on those suspected of having the virus. A total of 3644 cases have been tested in all, 433 of which were positive.

The Ministry stated that there are 60 patients in total are hospitalized. 53 patients are in the Infectious Diseases Hospital, 6 of which are in intensive care and 2 are intubated; 7 patients are hospitalized at the Sanatorium Hospital, 4 of them are intubated.

Most cases of the infection have been recorded in Tirana, Shkoder and Durres.

The geographical distribution of cases is a follows:

Tirana (209, including 11 dead), Durres (39, 3 dead), Lushnje (6, one dead), Elbasan (15), Fier (32, one dead), Kavaja (8, 2 dead), Rrogozhine (4), Korca (17), Vlora (5, one dead), Shkodra (52), Lezha (14), Berat (2), Has (12, one dead), Kruja (6), Tropoje (4), Puka (5), Mirdite (3).

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection urged citizens to continue to respect social distancing measures.
