Albania Coronavirus Update 21 June: 44 Deaths, 1134 Recovered, 71 New Cases, 784 Active Cases, 1962 Total Cases

A 62-year old man from Tirana succumbed to the virus, after several days in intensive care, bringing the total number of victims to 44.

71 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in Albania during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1962.

There are currently 78 patients hospitalized with the virus, 10 are in intensive care, one is intubated.

The new cases were found in Tirana (31), Shkodra (12), Kruja (5), Vlora (5), Durrës (3), Fier (6), Pogradec (4), Kukes (1), Mirdite (1), Lezhe (1), Kamez (3).

The infected include people who have had contact with previously diagnosed cases, but also new ones into whom epidemiological investigations continue.

70 percent of those infected, or 1134 people have recovered.

Over 23,453 people have been tested since March.

784 cases are still active in the country.
