Albania Coronavirus Update 17 June: 38 Deaths, 1077 Recovered, 50 New Cases, 608 Active Cases, 1722 Total Cases

50 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in Albania during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1722.

A 82-year old from Tirana succumbed to the virus, after several days in intensive care, bringing the total number of victims to 38.

The new cases were found in Tirana (11), Shkodra (12), Kruja (6), Vlora (7), Durrës (4), Kurbin (2), Lushnja (1), Puka (2), and Korça (5).

The infected include people who have had contact with previously diagnosed cases, but also new ones into whom epidemiological investigations continue.

70 percent of those infected, or 1077 people have recovered.

Over 21,000 people have been tested since March.

There are currently 53 patients hospitalized with the virus, 9 are in intensive care, three are intubated.

608 cases are still active in the country in Tirana (271), Shkodra (86), Kruja (72), Kamëz (30), Durrës (33), Puka (11), Vlora (28), Lushnja (12), Korça (2), Librazhd (1), Mallakastra (2), Fier (6), Kukës (2), Tropoja (2), Mat (2), Lezha (3), Ura Vajgurore (1), Berat (1), Elbasan (8), Gjirokastra (1).
