Albania Coronavirus Update 18 August: 2 Dead, 155 New Cases

Two people infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours. A 61-year old and a 69-year old from Tirana succumbed to the virus, bringing the total number of victims to 230.

155 new cases have been found, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 7654, the Ministry of Health reported.

The new cases were found in Tirana (34), Durrës (24), Kruja (12), Korça (9), Lezha (9), Elbasan (8), Kurbin (7), Vlora (7), Gjirokastra (6), Kukës (4), Fier (3), Kavaja (3), Përmet (3), Shkodra (2), Devoll (2), Lushnja (2), Mirëdita (2), Tropoja (2), Mallakastra (2), Divjaka (2), Peqin (2), Kolonja (2), Gramsh (2), Mat (1), Ura Vajgurore (1), Klos (1), Vora (1), Maliq (1), and Patos (1). .

55 people have recovered, bringing the total to 3871.

Over 50,000 people have been tested since March, including serological (antibody) tests.

There are currently 95 patients hospitalized with the virus, 12 are in intensive care, 4 are intubated in aggravated condition. 12 patients who no longer have the virus are still being treated for its symptoms.
