Albania Coronavirus Update 18 June: 39 Deaths, 1086 Recovered, 66 New Cases, 663 Active Cases, 1788 Total Cases

66 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in Albania during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1788.

A 67-year old from Shkodra succumbed to the virus, after several days in intensive care, bringing the total number of victims to 39.

The new cases were found in Tirana (32), Shkodra (3), Kruja (12), Vlora (7), Durrës (6), Fier (3), Lezha (1), Tropoja (1), and Elbasan (1).

The infected include people who have had contact with previously diagnosed cases, but also new ones into whom epidemiological investigations continue.

70 percent of those infected, or 1086 people have recovered.

Over 21,000 people have been tested since March.

There are currently 55 patients hospitalized with the virus, 8 are in intensive care, two are intubated.

663 cases are still active in the country in Tirana (326), Shkodra (111), Kruja (72), Kamëz (30), Durrës (132), Puka (11), Vlora (42), Lushnja (12), Korça (7), Librazhd (1), Mallakastra (2), Fier (24), Kukës (5), Tropoja (2), Mat (2), Lezha (5), Ura Vajgurore (1), Berat (1), Elbasan (9), Gjirokastra (1).
