A 69-year-old man infected with COVID-19 died on Tuesday, bringing the death toll in Albania to 33. He had been in intensive care for several days.
The Public Health Institute reported 25 new cases of COVID-19, Tirana (24) and Durres (1), found during the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1029. 15 new cases were found in a call center in Tirana.
A total of 14,500 tests have been conducted since the beginning of March, 173 in the last 24 hours.
78% of those affected, or 1029 people have recovered.
There are currently 17 patients hospitalized with the virus and 3 are in intensive care.
193 cases are still active in the country, mainly in Tirana, Durres, Kruja, and Shkodra.
The geographical distribution of active cases is as follows: Tirana (80), Durrës (54), Kruja (24), Shkoder (12), Berat (10), Kamëz (9), Fier (4), Mirdita (1), Korça (1).
