64 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in Albania during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 2466.
A 78-year old from Tirana and a 83-year old from Durrës succumbed to the virus bringing the total number of victims to 58.
The new cases were found in Tirana (15), Vlora (11), Kruja (13), Shkodra (11), Durrës (7), Lezha (4), Kukës (3), Puka (3), Kurbin (2), Korça (1), Elbasan (1), Vlora (1), Berat (1), Mat (1), and Pogradec (1).
The infected include people who have had contact with previously diagnosed cases, but also new ones into whom epidemiological investigations continue.
70 percent of those infected, or 1438 people have recovered.
Over 25,000 people have been tested since March.
There are currently 84 patients hospitalized with the virus, 11 are in intensive care, two are intubated. The average age of those hospitalized is 61 years old.
970 cases are still active in the country in Tirana (358), Durrës (198), Shkodra (155), Vlora (100), Fier (47), Elbasan (13), Korça (28), Lezha (39), Kukës (18), Gjirokastra (7), Berat (5), and Dibër (1).
