Albania Coronavirus Update 4 August: 4 Dead, 130 New Cases

4 people infected with Covid-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of victims to 178.

130 new cases have been found, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 5750, the Ministry of Health reported.

The new cases were found in Tirana (72), Shkodra (13), Fier (6), Kukës (5), Lezha (5), Korça (4), Mat (3), Roskovec (3), Kruja (2), Kavaja (2), Lushnja (2), Berat (2), Saranda (2), Durrës (1), Elbasan (1), Has (1), Vlora (1), Gjirokastra (1), Malësi e Madhe (1), Gramsh (1), Kuçova (1), and Skrapar (1).

23 people have recovered, bringing the total to 3054.

2335 cases are still active in the country, about half of them in Tirana.

Over 42,000 people have been tested since March, including serological (antibody) tests.

There are currently 116 patients hospitalized with the virus, 23 are in intensive care, 7 are intubated in aggravated condition.
