Albania Coronavirus Update: 4 New Cases, 187 Active Cases, 654 Recovered, 872 Total

A total of four new cases of COVID-19 have been discovered in Albania during the last 24 hours- the lowest figure in two months.

In this mornings briefing by the Ministry of Health, Dr Eugena Tomini said that the overall total number of cases has reached 872. She said the epidemiological situation in the country is stable, based on the identification of cases so far. 

Over the last 24 hours, 121 suspected cases were tested and four were found positive. Two are in Tirana, one in Kamza, and one in Shkodra. A further four individuals recovered from the virus. So far, 75% of all those affected have recovered and there are currently 187 active cases. These cases are in Tirana, Kruja, Shkodra and Kamza.

28 patients are currently hospitalised, three of which are in intensive care. There has not been a loss of life for more than 10 days.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 10559 molecular tests and 530 serological tests have been carried out.

The geographical distribution of active cases is as follows: Tirana (87), Kruja (56), Shkodra (17), Kamza (12), Fier (5), Kurbin (3), Elbasan (3), Mirdita (1), Berat (1), Durres (1), Korca (1).
