6 people infected with Covid-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours. A 58-year old from Durrës, a 70-year old from Kruja, an 82-year old from Shijak, a 63-year old from Kukës, a 64-year old from Shkodra and a 69-year old from Elbasan succumbed to the virus, bringing the total number of victims to 182.
139 new cases have been found, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 5889, the Ministry of Health reported.
This is the highest number of daily reported cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
The new cases were found in Tirana (81), Berat (10), Durrës (8), Tropoja (7), Elbasan (6), Shkodra (3), Kukës (3), Lezha (3), Kavaja (3), Pogradec (3), Korça (2), Divjaka (2), Shijak (2), Lushnja (1), Mirdita (1), Tepelena (1), Vau i Dejës (1), Malësi e Madhe (1), and Bulqiza.
69 people have recovered, bringing the total to 3123.
2589 cases are still active in the country, about half of them in Tirana.
Over 42,000 people have been tested since March, including serological (antibody) tests.
There are currently 110 patients hospitalized with the virus, 21 are in intensive care, 6 are intubated in aggravated condition.
