71 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in Albania during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 2964.
A 63-year old from Lezha, a 65-year old from Tirana, and a 69-year doctor from Puka succumbed to the virus bringing the total number of victims to 79.
The new cases were found in Tirana (24), Elbasan (8), Durrës (6), Kruja (5), Kukës (5), Lezha (5), Kurbin (4), Vlora (3), Korça (2), Shkodra (2), Përmet (2), Delvina (1), Vau i Dejës (1), Bulqiza (1), Kamza (1), and Fier (1).
The infected include people who have had contact with previously diagnosed cases, but also new ones into whom epidemiological investigations continue.
1702 people have recovered.
Around 28,000 people have been tested since March.
There are currently 78 patients hospitalized with the virus, 8 are in intensive care, two are intubated in aggravated condition.
1183 cases are still active in the country in Tirana (409), Durrës (209), Shkodra (158), Vlora (117), Fier (46), Elbasan (13), Korça (32), Lezha (57), Kukës (21), Gjirokastra (10), Berat (8), and Dibra (8).
