Albania Coronavirus Update 8 July: 83 Deaths, 1791 Recovered, 68 New Cases, 1232 Active Cases, 3106 Total Cases

68 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in Albania during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 3106.

A 58-year old and a 59-year doctor from Tirana succumbed to the virus bringing the total number of victims to 83.

The new cases were found in Tirana (24), Kruja (9), Kukës (8), Vlora (5), Berat (5), Elbasan (3), Lezha (3), Kavaja (3), Shkodra (2), Kurbin (2), Korça (2), Divjaka (1), and Lushnja (1).

The infected include people who have had contact with previously diagnosed cases, but also new ones into whom epidemiological investigations continue.

1791 people have recovered.

Around 30,000 people have been tested since March.

There are currently 83 patients hospitalized with the virus, 10 are in intensive care, four are intubated in aggravated condition.

1232 cases are still active in the country in Tirana (488), Durrës (221), Shkodra (161), Vlora (120), Fier (42), Elbasan (28), Korça (31), Lezha (65), Kukës (28), Gjirokastra (15), Berat (20), and Dibra (12).
