Albania COVID-19 Update 12 December: 12 Dead, 879 Infections, 384 Recoveries

Twelve people infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 989.

About 60 percent of deaths related to the novel coronavirus have occurred since October.

879 new cases have been found in the meantime, bringing the total number of cases to 47,742. Over 70 percent of the total cases have occurred in the last two months.

384 people have recovered, 24,520 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 455 patients hospitalized with the virus, of which 27 are in intensive care, 7 are intubated in aggravated condition.

The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tirana (252), Shkodra (62), Durrës (49), Kavaja (40), Saranda (35), Lushnja (32), Kruja (31), Kuçova (31), Vlora (30), Elbasan (28), Mat (24), Kukës (22), Pogradec (20), Gjirokastër (19), Fier (19), Korça (18), Lezha (17), Bulqiza (15), Peqin (15), Skrapar (15), Mirdita (14), Përmet (14), Tepelena (10), Malësi e Madhe (9), Kurbin (8), Gramsh (7), Devoll (7), Dibra (7), Has (6), Mallakastra (6), Berat (5), Kolonja (5), Delvina (3), Tropoja (3), and Puka (1).

22,233 cases are still active in the country: Tirana (12034), Fier (1702), Durrës (1384), Korça (1132), Vlora (1117), Shkodra (1026), Elbasan (936), Berat (821), Lezha (808), Gjirokastra (545), Kukës (439), and Dibra (289).
