Albania COVID-19 Update 16 December: 12 Dead, 637 Infections, 505 Recoveries

Twelve people infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1040.

637 new cases have been found in the meantime, bringing the total number of cases to 50,637.

505 people have recovered, 26,381 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 403 patients hospitalized with the virus, of which 29 are in intensive care, 11 are intubated in aggravated condition.

The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tirana (249), Lezhë (56), Shkodër (45), Fier (35), Vlorë (26), Elbasan (20), Mat (18), Kurbin (16), Durrës (15), Mirditë (15), Sarandë (13), Dibër (13), Berat (12), Tepelenë (10), Pogradec (8), Korçë (8), Peqin (7), Kukës (6), Kavajë (6), Pukë (6), Krujë (5), Gjirokastër (5), Malësi e Madhe (5), Skrapar (5), Librazhd (4), Delvinë (4), Bulqizë (4), Kolonjë (4), Gramsh (4),  Devoll (3), Has (2), Lushnje (2), Përmet (2), Kuçovë (2), and one case in Tropojë, Mallakastër.

23,216 cases are still active in the country: Tirana (12421), Fier (1739), Durrës (1387), Korça (1097), Vlora (1141), Shkodra (1241), Elbasan (974), Berat (914), Lezha (930), Gjirokastra (537), Kukës (452), and Dibër (383).
