Albania COVID-19 Update 16 January: 5 Dead, 581 Infections, 465 Recoveries

Five people infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1,270. The victims’ age varies between 54 and 80.

581 new cases have been found in the meantime, bringing the total number of cases to 67,216.

465 people have recovered; 40,090 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 276 patients hospitalized with the virus, of which 32 are in intensive care, 5 are intubated in aggravated condition.

The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tiranë (177), Vlorë (37), Elbasan (28), Durrës (26), Fier (26), Lushnje (25), Kavajë (23), Dibër (20), Shkodër (19), Krujë (16), Berat (16), Sarandë (14), Mat (12), Kamëz (10), Peqin (10), Kukës (9), Kurbin (8), Prrenjas (8), Gramsh (8), Mallakastër (7), Divjakë (7), Lezhë (6), Librazhd (5), Bulqizë (5), Shijak (5), Kuçovë (5), Libohovë (5), Korçë (4), Tropojë (4), Gjirokastër (4), Ura Vajgurore (4), Belsh (4), Rrogozhinë (3), Delvinë (3), Vau i Dejës (3), Dropull (3), Tepelenë (2), Vorë (2), Patos (2), Poliçan (2), Mirditë (1), Përmet (1), Selenicë (1), Roskovec (1).

25,856 cases remain active in the country: Tirana (14899), Fier (1923), Shkodra (1384), Durrës (1429), Lezha (1017), Vlora (1030), Korça (890), Elbasan (1032), Berat (832), Dibër (552), Gjirokaster (477), and Kukës (391).
