Albania COVID-19 Update 23 October: 4 Dead, 306 Infections, 71 Recoveries

Four people – aged 21, 49, 70, 85 –  infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of victims to 469.

The 21-year-old man had underlying health conditions, while the 85-year-old victim is Elmaz Elezi, a former physician at the Infectious Diseases Hospital.

306 new cases have been found, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 18,556. This is a record high in daily new cases in Albania.

71 people have recovered, bringing the total to 10,466.

There are currently 260 patients hospitalized with the virus, 15 are in intensive care, 6 are intubated in aggravated condition.

The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tiranë (179), Korçë (25), Vlorë (25), Fier (16), Elbasan (13), Berat (10), Mirditë (6), Durrës (5), Kavajë (4), Mallakastër (4), Pogradec (4), two cases in Mat, Roskovec, Bulqizë, Peqin, and one case in Shkodër, Krujë, Lushnje, Rrogozhinë, Gjirokastër, Shijak, Patos.

7,621 cases are still active in the country: Tiranë (3805), Durrës (730), Shkodër (493), Lezhë (373), Elbasan (344), Korçë (471), Fier (503), Vlorë (307), Kukës (178), Berat (224), Dibër (97), Gjirokastër (96).
