Eighteen people infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 771. The victims’ age varies between 56 and 82.
About 50 percent of deaths related to the novel coronavirus have occurred since October 1.
645 new cases have been found in the meantime, bringing the total number of cases to 36,245. Since October 1, Albania has seen 22,559 cases, or over 62 percent of the total.
403 people have recovered, 17,755 since the beginning of the pandemic.
There are currently 463 patients hospitalized with the virus, 25 are in intensive care, 8 are intubated in aggravated condition.
The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tiranë (272), Durrës (56), Fier (51), Korçë (48), Kuçovë (30), Mat (20), Pogradec (19), Vlorë (16), Kolonjë (15), Elbasan (14), Krujë (13), Tepelenë (12), Dibër (12), Has (10), Sarandë (10), Devoll (8), Peqin (8), Mallakastër (6), Delvinë (6), Skrapar (6), Berat (4), Tropojë (3), Shkodër (2), and one case in Kurbin, Kukës, Lezhë, Malësi e Madhe.
17,719 cases are still active in the country: Tiranë (9061), Fier (1347), Durrës (1339), Korçë (1006), Vlorë (858), Shkodër (855), Elbasan (825), Lezhë (739), Berat (554), Gjirokastër (545), Kukës (399), Dibër (191).
