Sixteen people infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 787. The victims’ age varies between 49 and 86.
About 50 percent of deaths related to the novel coronavirus have occurred since October 1.
545 new cases have been found in the meantime, bringing the total number of cases to 36,790. Since October 1, Albania has seen 23,103 cases, or over 62 percent of the total.
397 people have recovered, 18,152 since the beginning of the pandemic.
There are currently 471 patients hospitalized with the virus, 27 are in intensive care, 9 are intubated in aggravated condition.
The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tiranë (159), Vlorë (40), Kavajë (37), Shkodër (36), Lushnje (32), Durrës (26), Berat (20), Sarandë (19), Elbasan (19), Fier (17), Kurbin (14), Pogradec (14), Tepelenë (13), Mirditë (12), Gjirokastër (9), Pukë (8), Tropojë (8), Peqin (8), Kolonjë (8), Kukës (7), Librazhd (7), Gramsh (6), Dibër (4), Malësi e Madhe (4), Krujë (3), Korçë (3), Has (3), Përmet (3), Delvinë (3), Devoll (2), Bulqizë (1).
17,851 cases are still active in the country: Tiranë (9145), Fier (1342), Durrës (1320), Korçë (989), Vlorë (890), Shkodër (872), Elbasan (840), Lezhë (741), Berat (566), Gjirokastër (547), Kukës (405), Dibër (194).
