Albania COVID-19 Update 31 December: 7 Dead, 589 Infections, 449 Recoveries

Seven people infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1181. The victims’ age varies between 55 and 82.

589 new cases have been found in the meantime, bringing the total number of cases to 58,316.

449 people have recovered; 33,634 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 284 patients hospitalized with the virus, of which 26 are in intensive care, 8 are intubated in aggravated condition.

The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tirana (213), Durrës (51), Fier (29), Vlorë (29), Shkodër (27), Lushnje (25), Lezhë (17), Berat (16), Korçë (15), Kurbin (14), Sarandë (14), Elbasan (12), Peqin (10), Krujë (9), Mat(8), Kukës (7), Has (7), Rrogozhinë (7), Kamëz (7), Pogradec (6), Tropojë (6), Dibër (6), Delvinë (5), Kavajë (5), Klos (4), Patos (4), Mirditë (3), Gramsh (3), Shijak (3), Kolonjë (3), Mallakastër (3), Gjirokastër (3), two cases in Devoll, Librazhd, Skrapar, Finiq, Vorë, Poliçan, Këlcyrë, and one case in Libohovë, Cërrik, Malësi e Madhe, Ura- Vajgurore.

23,501 cases are still active in the country: Tirana (13547), Fier (1632), Shkodra (1289), Durrës (1235), Vlora (969), Korça (961), Lezha (890), Elbasan (891), Berat (763), Gjirokastra (476), Kukës (431), and Dibër (417).
