Albania COVID-19 Update 6 December: 16 Dead, 840 Infections, 331 Recoveries

Sixteen people infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 905.

About 57 percent of deaths related to the novel coronavirus, or exactly 518 deaths have occurred since October.

840 new cases have been found in the meantime, bringing the total number of cases to 42,988. About 68 percent (29,339) of the total cases have occurred in the last two months.

331 people have recovered, 21,617 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 479 patients hospitalized with the virus, 35 are in intensive care, 9 are intubated in aggravated condition.

The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tiranë (345), Shkodër (75), Fier (52), Berat (47), Vlorë (42), Kavajë (33), Gjirokastër (24), Lushnje (23), Pogradec (22), Lezhë (19), Krujë (18), Korçë (17), Kolonjë (15), Mirditë (14), Kuçovë (11), Skrapar (11), Mat (10), Gramsh (9), Kukës (8), Sarandë (7), Malësi e Madhe (7), Peqin (7), Tepelenë (6), Librazhd (5), Devoll (4), Durrës (3), Mallakastër (2), and one case in Bulqizë, Tropojë, Has, Elbasan.

20,466 cases are still active in the country: Tiranë (10946), Fier (1562), Durrës (1356), Korçë (1135), Vlorë (1045), Shkodër (919),  Elbasan (860), Lezhë (739), Berat (720), Gjirokastër (507), Kukës (428), Dibër (249).
